In Ingushetia, a tax officer was arrested in a criminal case involving damage to the Russian budget amounting to 130 million rubles. This was announced on May 31 by the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the republic.

According to the agency, from 2020 to 2022, officials of the office of the Federal Tax Service of Russia for the Republic of Ingushetia, acting in collusion, exceeded their authority and entered false information into the automated system on desk tax audits, knowing about the unreliability of data from tax returns of legal entities. This led to significant damage to the Russian budget in the amount of more than 130 million rubles due to non-payment of value-added tax.

The defendant was detained under paragraph "b" of Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Abuse of official authority, resulting in serious consequences"). Earlier, two more suspects were detained as part of the criminal investigation.

"Today, the Magassky District Court of the Republic of Ingushetia, at the request of the investigating authorities, has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention until 07/29/2025. In the near future, the investigation plans to charge him," the Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the republic says.
