More than 60 million rubles were raised at the charity "Green Marathon"

About 140,000 runners took part in the "Superprime Green Marathon", which was held in 60 cities of Russia, as well as in Gomel, Belarus. According to the press service of Sberbank, the marathon helped raise 60 million rubles in support of orphaned children, including children in new and border territories.
This year's race was held for the 12th time. The athletes competed at distances from 4.2 to 21.1 km. About 150 thousand fans came to support the runners.
In Moscow, the participants started and finished on Vasilyevsky Descent near the Kremlin. The competition program included the 400, 600 and 800 m races (for children), 4.2 km, 10 km and 21.1 km, the 4.2 km Nordic walking and the 4.2 km team race.
There were also competitions in a non-standard format. For example, "Slider races" for the youngest participants were held in Ufa, Tyumen and Yoshkar-Ola. And in Ivanovo, the traditional bride race took place — participants in wedding dresses covered a distance of 420 m.
As noted by German Gref, President and Chairman of the Management Board of Sberbank, this year the bank "collects charitable funds to help children who need support, including children in new and border territories."
According to Gref, "together with Sberbank's Contribution to the Future charitable foundation, more than 30 million rubles of donations have already been collected — and this amount will increase throughout the day." The head of the bank clarified that the entire amount collected during the race "will be doubled by Sberbank." "By our example, by our participation, we must inspire many other people to participate in such actions, which not only heal and unite, but also help children at a very important moment," Gref stressed.
The funds raised through Sberbank's Contribution to the Future charitable foundation will be used for programs to help children in new and border territories. Support, in particular, will be provided to orphanages where repairs and equipment are required; programs for the adaptation of children left without parents; programs for preparing future first-graders for school.
