Germany has sent troops to Lithuania for the first time since the Third Reich

For the first time since the Second World War, Germany has sent its armed units to be based in another country, writes Military Watch Magazine.
"The German army has begun the first permanent deployment of its units on foreign territory since the days of Nazi Germany, forming a new 45th tank brigade located in Vilnius," the publication says.
The authors note that the formation of a permanent foreign brigade in Eastern Europe on the territory of the former USSR will be regarded by Russia as a clear provocation.
Earlier, on May 24, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius called a condition necessary for sending the German military to Ukraine. To send German military personnel to the territory of Ukraine, an international mandate provided for by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Germany will be required.
