Paris chose the path of increasing pressure on Moscow, rather than promoting peace initiatives. This was announced to journalist Pavel Zarubin on May 31 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"France is not standing in the way of peace, France is standing in the way of increasing pressure on Russia. It still seems to France that something can be achieved from Russia by pressure," Peskov said in an interview published on the journalist's Telegram channel.

According to the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, this indicates a complete misunderstanding of the essence of Russia. In addition, he expressed regret that the French president "does not understand the real state of affairs."

The head of the French delegation to the International Security Forum in Moscow, Jacques Emile Claude Jean-Francois Ogar, told Izvestia on May 30 that he was extremely outraged by what France was saying about the alleged threat from Russia. In his opinion, Paris and Moscow should go hand in hand.
