India has confirmed the loss of several aircraft in clashes with Pakistan

India's military has confirmed for the first time that it lost a number of fighter jets in clashes with Pakistan in May. This was reported by Bloomberg on May 31.
"What matters is not that the fighter jets were shot down, but why they were shot down," said Anil Chauhan, chief of the Defense Staff of the Indian Armed Forces, in an interview with Bloomberg TV.
He called Pakistan's claims that it had shot down six Indian military aircraft "absolutely incorrect", without specifying the actual number of casualties.
On May 30, the Indian Interior Ministry announced the destruction of more than 100 Pakistani checkpoints by border guards. India's Border Security Forces (BSF) destroyed or damaged approximately 118 Pakistani border checkpoints during the three days of conflict.
