The Danish woman will be tried in absentia for the invasion of the Kursk region.


On June 9, the 2nd Western District Military Court will begin considering a criminal case against Danish citizen Annabel Jorgensen, who invaded the Kursk region as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported on May 31 in the press service of the court.
"Following the results of the preliminary hearings, the criminal case against Jorgensen Annabel Kristin Uhle has been scheduled for consideration in open mode, in absentia. The date of the first substantive hearing is scheduled for June 9," a court spokeswoman told the TASS news agency.
On November 15, 2024, a Danish citizen, along with other mercenaries from different countries, illegally crossed the border between Russia and Ukraine in the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region. After that, she took part in an attack on employees of Russian law enforcement agencies, as well as civilians. In addition, she was involved in the seizure of residential buildings and a train station in Cambodia.
On January 29, the Leninsky District Court of Kursk arrested British citizen Jerome Starkey in absentia, who illegally entered the Kursk region to film a report on the invasion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the region. He was charged in absentia under Part 3 of Article 322 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal crossing of the state border of the Russian Federation"). The Briton is currently on the federal and international wanted list.
