The expert advised not to buy sofas with low-density foam

Buying a sofa with low-density foam can be an extra expense and a disappointment for new owners of such furniture. Andrey Ragozin, the founder and CEO of the STAVROS furniture company, told about this in an interview with Gazeta.Ru" on Saturday, May 31.
As the specialist explained, polyurethane foam, usually called foam rubber, quickly loses its shape and creases at low density. At the same time, the sofa loses both its attractive appearance and ease of use. But upholstered furniture with the same high-density filler will last much longer for the buyer. Sofas with spring blocks can also be preferred.
"We do not recommend purchasing folding beds and sofas with a mattress that is less than 15 mm thin. They do not support your back well and are not suitable for constant sleep. They can be useful only for temporary accommodation of guests, but not for daily use," the expert noted.
He also spoke out against furniture made using particle board (chipboard) without lamination. Since lamination protects the material from excess moisture by coating it with a thin layer of waterproof material, cabinets and countertops that have not undergone such treatment will quickly lose their original appearance, peel off and break easily due to loss of strength.
"Transformer furniture of low quality will not bring joy to the buyer. This type of furniture can change its shape or functional features depending on a person's needs. For example, a sofa can turn into a bed or wardrobe. Low-quality mechanisms fail quickly, unable to withstand frequent use, which can lead to injury. If you are buying transformer furniture, you should focus on trusted brands with good real reviews," Ragozin advised.
The expert also recommended not buying plastic furniture for residential use, as it often looks cheap, and plastic may turn yellow after a while of use. However, such furniture, according to him, can be useful on the street — for example, in a suburban area.
In conclusion, the expert emphasized that people who lead a sedentary lifestyle and spend a lot of time at the computer, it is better not to save on office chairs. An uncomfortable chair can cause back problems, and ergonomic models should be preferred.
Earlier, on May 10, Fyodor Vasiliev, the founder and CEO of Glavsnab, gave advice to Izvestia that would help visually expand the space even in a small apartment. So, he noted that by installing a large mirror in front of the window, you can visually enlarge the space, and curly or composite models will help create an effect of depth in the room.
