A child trafficking case has been considered in Primorsky Krai


Eight medical workers were convicted in the case of trafficking in newborn babies. This was announced on May 31 by the Primorsky Krai Prosecutor's office in its Telegram channel.
A group of doctors illegally issued medical documentation containing false information about infertility of patients.
"Using assisted reproductive technologies under the guise of infertility treatment, the defendants carried out actions for the cultivation of embryos and the subsequent birth of children in order to sell them and then move them abroad," the agency said in a statement.
According to the investigation, the defendants made a number of transactions for the purchase and sale of 13 children in the total amount of over 53 million rubles.
"After handing over copies of the indictment, the criminal case will be sent to the Frunzensky District Court of Vladivostok," the prosecutor's office said.
The doctors are charged under clause "b" of Part 3 of Article 127.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Trafficking in minors with their illegal export abroad"). They face imprisonment for up to 15 years.
Earlier, on May 28, five teenagers were killed and four injured after a knife attack in Baikalsk. A criminal case was opened.
