- The head of the British Ministry of Defense announced an increase in the defense budget to 3% of GDP by 2034

British Defense Minister John Healey on Friday, May 30, announced an increase in defense funding to 3% of GDP by 2034.
As Healy said in an interview with The Times, the kingdom currently spends 2.3% of GDP on defense. According to the newspaper's sources, the British Strategic Defense Review (SDR), which the government will publish in June, says that the 3% defense spending figure will certainly be reached in 2034.
"In the next parliament, the country will spend 3% of our GDP on defense," Healy said.
According to him, he has "no doubts" about achieving this indicator. The next parliamentary elections in Britain are scheduled for 2029.
British Defense Minister John Healey said on May 29 that the government plans to step up cyber attacks against Russia and China. The government wants to invest £1 billion by 2027 in a new digital guidance network aimed at improving the integration of weapons systems.
