Trump announced a doubling of steel import duties

US President Donald Trump has announced that customs duties on imported steel will double. This was announced on May 30 by the White House press service on the social network X.
"Next week, steel tariffs will be increased from 25% to 50% to further protect the U.S. steel industry from foreign influence and unfair competition," the statement said.
Earlier, on May 30, the US Court of Appeals reinstated Trump's trade duties. At the same time, the new decree does not contain any specific definitions and "creates new uncertainty about the fate of Trump's tariffs."
