As a result of an attack by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) Seven people, including two teenagers, were injured in the Rylsky and Lgovsky districts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Alexander Khinshtein, Acting Governor of the Kursk region, announced this on May 31.
"In Rylsk, drones flew into two five-storey [apartment buildings]. An apartment caught fire on the ground floor, the fire spread to neighboring balconies. <...> In a neighboring house, a drone struck the third floor, and a fire started in one of the apartments," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
Both fires were promptly extinguished. A family of four people, including two teenagers aged 13 and 16, was taken to the Rila Central Regional Hospital. They, as well as two other women and a man, have shrapnel wounds and a state of shock.
In the Lgovsky district, two buildings and a garage caught fire due to drones. Firefighters are extinguishing the fire.
Khinstein added that emergency services are working on the ground.
On May 29, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked a hospital in the Kursk region. It was reported that due to the attack, an inactive medical facility was almost destroyed.
