The US administration plans to expand trade sanctions against China's technology sector by imposing licensing requirements on transactions with subsidiaries whose parent companies are already under sanctions. This was reported on May 30 by Bloomberg, citing sources.

"The Trump administration plans to expand restrictions on China's technology sector with new regulations to take over subsidiaries subject to U.S. restrictions," the agency said.

The goal of Washington's new policy is to prevent workarounds of previously imposed restrictions by creating new subsidiaries.

"Some of the largest Chinese semiconductor design and manufacturing firms are subject to U.S. sanctions through the so—called list of organizations, from Huawei Technologies Co. to Yangtze Memory Technologies Co.," the agency noted.

Earlier, on April 16, the media reported that American companies were losing profits in the trade war with China. Large American companies such as Tesla and Nvidia are at risk of reducing production in the United States and losing profits due to tariffs from the United States. In China, at the same time, economic growth was recorded above forecasts in the first quarter.
