A criminal case was opened over the death of a worker who fell from a height of 30 m during construction work at the circus on May 29. This was announced on May 30 by the investigative department for the Central District of Volgograd of the regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) in its Telegram channel.

"A criminal case has been opened into the death of a worker during construction work in the building of the Volgograd State Circus, on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of safety rules during construction and other work that negligently caused the death of a person")," the report said.

The investigation will conduct a legal assessment of the actions of those responsible for the safety of working conditions.

Earlier, on May 30, a criminal case was opened into the death of a worker when an excavator hit in Primorye. The excavator driver was not convinced of the safety of the maneuver and ran over the worker.
