The RFU recognized FC Spartak as the most unprofitable RPL club

Spartak football club beat CSKA Moscow and became the most unprofitable club in the Russian Premier League (RPL) according to the financial report of the Russian Football Union (RFU). Information about this appeared on the official website of the organization on May 30.
It is reported that Spartak's loss amounted to 2.61 billion rubles before taxes, which is the worst indicator in the league. Also among the worst-losing teams were Moscow-based Lokomotiv (1.076 billion rubles) and Moscow-based Khimki (587.86 million). CSKA's loss amounted to 528 million rubles.
The most profitable club in 2024 was the national champion Krasnodar (13.05 billion rubles), adds Sport-Express.
Earlier that day, RFU Secretary General Maxim Mitrofanov said that the sports organization had not issued a license to FC Khimki to participate in the RPL in the 2025/26 season due to overdue accounts payable and lack of guarantees of regular funding.
