- Macron allowed the presence of NATO in Asia in case of the presence of North Korean troops in Europe

French President Emmanuel Macron called on the authorities of the People's Republic of China (PRC) to prevent the deployment of military personnel of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) in Europe, threatening to retaliate by expanding NATO's actions in Asia. He stated this on May 30 at the Shangri-La Dialogue security conference, which was held in Singapore.
He noted that North Korea's actions raise concerns.
"And that is why, if China does not want NATO to participate in the affairs of Southeast Asia or Asia, it must prevent the DPRK from being involved in European territory," Macron said during a speech broadcast on the France 24 English YouTube channel.
He called on Europe to focus on protecting its security and territory, as well as help Asian countries accomplish the same tasks.
"Through cooperation, we must help Asian countries do the same for themselves and reduce our dependence on both sides," the French president concluded.
Choe Ryong Hae, head of the DPRK Defense Ministry's policy department, said on May 24 that the increase in US spending on nuclear weapons threatens global security. He believes that Washington, under the pretext of external threats, is unreasonably creating conditions for building up its armed forces.
