US President Donald Trump expressed confidence in holding a conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping in the near future. He stated this to journalists on May 30.

"I'm sure I'll talk to President Xi [Jinping]. And, hopefully, we will settle everything (trade issues. — Ed.). Yes, the agreement was violated," Trump said at a press conference broadcast on the White House's YouTube channel.

As the US president noted, China has violated a significant part of the trade agreement concluded between them. He also stated that he had helped the state, as he had serious problems due to the shutdown of a huge business.
