The psychologist explained the desire to get rid of things with depression

Psychologist Angelina Surina explained why depression causes a sudden desire for minimalism and clutter.
In conversation with aif.ru On Friday, May 30, the specialist noted that the desire to get rid of things may indicate not only the presence of depression, but also recovery.
"Most often, the desire to throw something out of the house and the desire for minimalism appears in a person who wants to change his life. Even if he is still depressed, this is already a signal to get out of it," the specialist explained.
According to her, the reason may be hidden in disappointment in the past or things that remind you of it. The very fact that a person is starting to do something already indicates the presence of inner energy and a desire for change.
As Surina explained, in a state of depression, a person does not want anything, but to sort things out they will have to touch, think, throw them away, and this is an action that always has a desire behind it.
In addition, cleaning, physical activity, and movement themselves trigger renewal processes, help to engage the body and mind in work, and therefore play an important role in recovery.
On May 15, Fyodor Osipov, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, lecturer at the Moscow Institute of Psychology, spoke about the signs by which depression can be detected. In particular, clinical depression is characterized by a complete lack of interest in life and oneself.
