Parents should use their own example to show their child how to behave on the road, said Olga Yaroslavskaya, the Commissioner for Children's Rights in Moscow.

"If the parent does not violate the rules of the road, then the child understands from a young age that it is necessary to behave in a certain way," Yaroslavskaya said in an interview with Yulia Temnikova, adviser to the deputy mayor of Moscow on transport and industry, in the author's program "Moscow Rides" on the Moscow 24 TV channel.

She also noted that it is possible to teach children through interactive and engaging content. Educational cartoons and board games on traffic rules are best suited for this.

Earlier, Deptrans said that the Moscow Transport project has been developing in the city since 2023. For children." It was created for the Day of Knowledge, when children actively start using public transport. Specially created characters of the project — Metrosha, Rechkin and Electric Bus - tell children about the rules of behavior and safety.

As Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor for Transport and Industry, noted, the issue of child safety is under special control of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. Throughout the year, various events are held at the sites of the capital's Transport Complex, during which children are taught traffic rules. This is also helped by the videos that are shown on 34,000 media screens in the subway and ground transport. On them, children's characters talk in an accessible form about the rules of behavior on the roads and in transport.
