The expert spoke about the accelerating car wear habits of drivers

There are a number of driving habits that accelerate car wear. Alexander Kornev, head of the Department for work with importers at Gazprombank Autoleasing, spoke in detail about them to Izvestia on June 2.
"When driving actively "on cold", the engine literally runs out of steam, because the protective oil film does not have time to disperse through all the insides of the engine. Fans of driving to the last drop risk clogging the fuel filter with dirt from the bottom of the tank, which then gets into the engine with understandable consequences," he said.
According to him, some drivers neglect the permissible carrying weight and overburden their car. Shock loads wear out the suspension faster. She also has a bad habit of driving through speed bumps at full speed.
"There is an opinion that the decompressed suspension dampens bumps better, but it is better to just reduce the speed by 10-15 km/h from the usual one. Braking in front of obstacles is also necessary at the last moment, because it is dangerous and wears out the brakes more than a smooth deceleration," explained Kornev.
At the same time, heavy loads in tow reduce the safety margin of the transmission. At the same time, the foot on the clutch wears out the release bearing faster. This can also affect the resource of the disks if they slip.
The expert stressed that leaving a car with an automatic transmission on an incline without a safety brake is also harmful to the transmission, since all the load falls on the locking mechanism, and it may not be able to withstand.
"In turn, failure to maintain pressure in the wheels will cause uneven wear of the rubber. So, on inflated wheels, the central part of the tread is more erased, and half-flat tires actively lose their sidewalls. In addition, wheels that are not factory—sized can disable the suspension ahead of schedule," said Kornev.
He clarified that driving through holes or parking close to the curb can also increase wheel wear. In this case, the angle of the wheels may be off, and this will cause the tires to wear out unevenly, and the behavior of the car on the road may become unpredictable.
"Another bad habit drivers have is called carelessness, or inattention. Because of it, they delay routine maintenance or go to the service when major repairs are already overdue," Kornev concluded.
Earlier, on May 29, Alexander Kornev, head of the Gazprombank Automotive Leasing importer department, told Izvestia that the most common reason for power loss is poor gasoline. The mixture explodes before a spark appears, preventing the piston from moving. The piston group wears out more, and the thrust decreases. On older engines with a worn-out cylinder-piston group, some of the gases uselessly go into the crankcase, leaving the engine without the required power.
