Russian companies will increase purchases of domestic servers

Russian companies continue to increase the pace of import substitution of servers and data storage systems. 77% of organizations reported plans to increase purchases of Russian equipment in 2025, according to an OCS study reviewed by Izvestia on June 2.

Every fourth company has invested more than 250 million rubles for the renovation and expansion of the park.

Experts noted that the increase in the volume of purchases of Russian solutions in 2025 corresponds to the overall increase in purchases of servers and storage systems — the average dynamics is 15%. In matters of import substitution, business demonstrates consistency and caution: a systematic increase in volumes indicates an expansion of the areas of application of domestic products and an increase in confidence in them. By the end of the year, the average share of Russian servers and storage systems in company fleets may grow from 30% to 35%, analysts said.

In some industries, the volume of purchases of local equipment is growing faster than the market. Many representatives of telecom (33%), the chemical industry (24%) and oil and gas (22%) plan to increase the fleet of domestic servers and storage systems by more than a quarter in 2025.

"Representatives of telecommunications, chemical and oil and gas industries are owners of critical information infrastructure. By law, they must strive to be import-independent of the solutions included in their IT circuit. Many still demonstrate a low level of penetration of domestic equipment and therefore intend to increase the share of Russian equipment in their fleets in 2025," explained Anna Chernyakova, OCS Vice President.

Earlier, on March 19, it was reported that in Russia, the share of the IT industry in gross domestic product (GDP) in 2024 reached 2.4%. Compared to 2023, it increased by 0.3 percentage points. This follows from the data provided by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation at an expanded meeting of the IT Committee on the eve of the Russian government's report.
