The expert gave advice on choosing a summer fragrance.

The summer fragrance should be light, fresh and unobtrusive. On hot days, perfumes should not overload the sense of smell, especially in public places or crowded transport, Roman Oparin, associate professor of the Department of General Biology and Bioecology at the State University of Education, told Izvestia on June 1.

"Citrus notes are a great choice for summer. Aromas with hints of lemon, orange, grapefruit or neroli create a feeling of freshness and vivacity. The perfume with notes of bergamot is great for work and business meetings, filling the atmosphere of communication with sunny sensations," he said.

According to him, floral notes will be a wonderful addition to the summer image. The scent of jasmine, peony or white flowers reminds of blooming gardens and creates a romantic mood. It may also be worth looking at options with flower chords and light notes of fruits, for example, a soft perfume with rose and lychee chords.

"Sea notes are a godsend for those who want to create a refreshing look. Aromas with an emphasis on sea salt or seaweed will bring an atmosphere of beach and relaxation, which is especially important in the summer heat. The perfume with notes of sea breeze and wood will create the feeling of walking along the coast," Oparin said.

He advised testing the fragrance on the skin before buying it to understand how it unfolds. You should also choose flavors with a low concentration. For example, eau de toilette or refreshing sprays are a good option.

"Use scents on your wrists, behind your ears, or on your decollete area so that they unfold gradually and don't overload the perception of others. Remember that the flavors can change depending on the weather conditions. Persistent and sweet flavors should be left for cooler weather," the expert recommended.
