The Ministry of Justice has recognized Russian writer Alexei Exler as a foreign agent.

Russian writer Alexei Exler, journalist Alexander Cherkasov and photojournalist Evgeny Feldman were added to the register of foreign agents. This was reported on the website of the Russian Ministry of Justice on May 30.

"Exler disseminated false information about decisions taken by public authorities of the Russian Federation and their policies, as well as false information aimed at creating a negative image of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation," the department noted.

It is specified that he opposed the special military operation in Ukraine and participated in the dissemination of messages and materials of foreign agents and undesirable organizations.

In addition to Exler, Cherkasov and Feldman were included in the list of foreign agents with similar charges.
