At the talks with Ukraine in Istanbul on June 2, Russia offers to exchange memoranda on the approaches of both sides to the negotiation process. This was stated on May 30 by Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) Vasily Nebenzia during a meeting of the organization's Security Council.

"We propose to hold a second round of talks in Istanbul next Monday, June 2, and exchange memoranda on the approaches of both sides to the negotiation process," Nebenzia said, his speech was broadcast on the UN YouTube channel.

On May 28, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced that the second round of talks between Russia and Ukraine would be held in Istanbul on June 2. The diplomat expressed the hope that all parties interested in the success of the peace process would support the holding of a new round of discussions.

Later, on May 30, The New York Times reported that Ukraine's memorandum on conflict resolution implies a cease-fire on land, at sea and in the sky.
