Murashko announced reproductive health checks for children at the age of six

Preventive medical examinations to assess reproductive health, starting in September this year, will be carried out for children at the age of six, and then annually from the age of 13. This was announced on May 30 by the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko.

"Examinations for the purpose of [assessing] reproductive health at the age of six and annually from the age of 13," says his presentation, presented at a meeting with students of the Pediatric Faculty of the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University of the Russian Ministry of Health at the D. Rogachev National Research Medical Center for Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology.

In addition, children from at-risk groups will have their blood cholesterol levels tested using an express method using test strips. Also, Murashko added, the standard deviation of the body mass index will be determined with the data recorded in the primary medical documentation.

"All the changes are aimed at early diagnosis of threats to health and development," TASS quoted the minister as saying.
