Every third student is confident in the impact of the Unified State Exam on his whole life

33% of students are confident that the Unified State Exam (USE) will have a significant impact on their future lives. At the same time, the majority of respondents (67%) are more relaxed about the exam, considering it an important but not decisive stage. Analysts of the Skysmart online school for children and teenagers told Izvestia about this on June 1.

Interestingly, 17-year—old survey participants show the greatest anxiety - 43% in the group of respondents who believe that the Unified State Exam will have a strong impact on their entire life. Among those who believe that an exam is not the worst thing in life, the age distribution is more even, with a slight preponderance of 16—year-olds (25%). Age differences in the perception of the Unified State Exam are quite natural: 17-year-olds are more likely to experience stress, as they are in the active phase of preparation.

According to eyewitnesses, in a Sverdlovsk school, a ninth-grader had to take off her clothes to her underwear to confirm the absence of a phone.

"The Unified State Exam does play an important role in university admission, but its impact on life should not be exaggerated. It is much more important to stay calm, focus on preparation and remember that even in case of failure there are always alternative ways," said Diana Franchuk, head of the preparation for the OGE and the Unified State Exam at the Skysmart online school for children and teenagers.

She reminded that in case of failure, you can try to take the exam again in a year, and devote the free time to career guidance in order to get to know yourself and your desires better, and prepare for the exam.

Earlier, on May 22, teacher Victoria Podsukhina, head of the regional department of the educational company MAXIMUM Education, told Izvestia that if a graduate did not score the minimum points for obtaining a certificate — 24 out of 100 in Russian and 3 out of 5 in basic mathematics — then he would be given another chance on the reserve days of the main period from 16 until June 23rd.
