Auto expert denied Toyota's return to the Russian market

Toyota is not returning to the Russian market and has not made any statements in this regard. Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of Za Rulem magazine, announced this on May 30 in his Telegram channel.
According to the auto expert, the media reporting on Toyota's return to Russia refers to a Business Car dealer who allegedly carries "official" cars from Japan and China itself. In fact, he transports cars to the country "in parallel" with the payment of commercial scrap fees in order to sell cars freely, Kadakov noted. The company provides a two-year dealer warranty, but the manufacturer is not responsible for it.
"Dealers have driven Toyotas before, as best they could. But all this was and remains either an alternative/private import, usually for physicists, or parallel import, when a legal entity imports a large batch of cars without the permission of the copyright holder," the auto expert noted.
Earlier that day, the Auto Mail portal reported on the resumption of Toyota sales in Russia. So, according to him, new Japanese brand cars are offered at the Moscow Motor show of the JV Business Car dealer holding, which, with a 94% stake, belongs to Toyota Motor Concern through the Toyota Tsusho Corporation trading company. The remaining 6% belong to the management of the Russian Toyota dealer holding, he wrote.
On May 23, the Autonews portal wrote that the Japanese company Mazda officially resumed deliveries of some car models in Russia with a guarantee through its partners.
