Tourist flow to Russia may grow by 20%

In the summer of 2025, inbound tourism to Russia may grow by almost 20%, ATOR Vice President Alexander Musikhin told Izvestia during a press briefing on summer tourism, citing data from the association's partners.
Organized tourism is also expected to grow relatively independently.
"China is still the main market, accounting for about 65%," the expert noted.
The Middle East (18%), Iran (8%) and India (4%) are also among the leaders. Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi and the Caucasus, as well as Kazan, turned out to be the most in demand among foreign tourists in Russia.
"The Moscow Plus format with a tour of the surrounding cities is very popular," said Musikhin.
The budget of the trip, according to experts, will remain unchanged in the coming season and will amount to $1 thousand per person for seven days and about $1.5 thousand per person per week in the case of tourists from Arab countries.
Among the potential threats to inbound tourism, experts listed a shortage of hotels in the most popular destinations and train tickets between Moscow and St. Petersburg.
On May 29, Izvestia got acquainted with the data from analysts of the Tutu and VTB travel service, from which it follows that families with children will travel to St. Petersburg (20%), Moscow (12%) and Sochi (11%) within the Russian Federation in the summer, Abkhazia (37%) became the leaders among foreign destinations, Belarus (28%) and Italy (7%).
