A terrorist attack was prevented in Moscow, which was being prepared on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services. This was announced on May 30 by the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.

According to the agency, during the search, a mobile phone was seized from the defendant, on which they found correspondence with the curator of the Ukrainian special services about the task to pick up a "cache" in a forest park in the west of Moscow. Investigators and field officers examined the place and found an improvised explosive device (IED), which the man planned to use to detonate in crowded places.

"A criminal case has been opened against the person involved in the revealed fact of preparing to commit a terrorist act (Part 1 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)," the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation said in a Telegram channel.

He was charged and a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen. The investigation of the criminal case is currently ongoing.

On the same day, the FSB's Public Relations Center reported the detention of six people in three regions who, on instructions from the Ukrainian special services, set fire to transport infrastructure and decorations by May 9.

The defendants, under the influence of fraudsters, transferred from 100,000 to 1 million rubles to "secure accounts" and were tricked into committing arson in the Novgorod, Leningrad and Tyumen regions, threatening them with criminal liability for financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Criminal proceedings were initiated on this fact under Part 2 of Article 205 ("Terrorist act") of the Criminal Code of Russia.
