- Zakharova denied reports of Turkey's mediation in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine

Turkey or other countries will not mediate in the talks between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul on June 2. This was reported on May 30 in a comment by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, published on the agency's website.
"We are deeply grateful to our Turkish friends for their hospitality and for creating the necessary comfortable working conditions as hosts of the negotiation platform. However, there is no question of Turkish or anyone else's mediation," Zakharova said.
According to her, the Russian delegation will arrive in Istanbul on June 2 to hold a second round of negotiations with a draft memorandum on the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine and other proposals for a ceasefire.
The official representative of the ministry stressed that the visits to Istanbul by representatives of the United States and a number of European countries have no connection with the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations.
Zakharova announced on May 29 that the composition of the Russian delegation to the talks on Ukraine on June 2 would remain the same as during the previous round, on May 16.
