Tourism, grocery retail and education became the fastest growing industries in Russia in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year. On May 30, the Calltouch platform, Tochka Bank and the service shared such data with Izvestia. hh.ru .

In the Russian Business Health Index prepared by analysts, tourism gained 36 points over the year (up to 71 points), grocery retail — 21 (up to 59), education — 9 (up to 69).

During the year, the turnover of travel companies increased by 38%. According to experts, booking tours in advance, the growing popularity of car trips and active routes, as well as the revival of domestic tourist traffic contributed to this result.

It is noted that the net, inflation-free, retail turnover growth was only 0.39% per year. Against this background, there is a trend towards consolidation, including the exit of large networks to regions where they absorb local players. At the same time, market players are developing their delivery services and strengthening their presence on marketplaces.

The educational services market, in turn, faced a slowdown in continuing professional education courses due to a decrease in interest in retraining in IT specialties and a drop in sales. At the same time, analysts say, the industry continues to grow.

The adult education segment demonstrated revenue of 12.3 billion rubles. It is noted that this is 10% more than in 2024. Experts named business education as the key driver, which involves companies investing in employee training in order to increase the effectiveness of teams.

However, the decline in sales and the reduction in the average receipt affected the turnover of educational companies. According to analysts, in the first three months they increased by only 0.63% compared to the same period last year.

Vladislav Bykhanov, managing partner of the Cornerstone recruitment company, told Izvestia on May 19 that salaries of employees in the legal field, the tourism industry, and equipment repair specialists could rise this year. He also stressed that salaries in the construction sector will not rise in the near future due to the observed reduction in construction volumes.
