Summary of the special operation in Ukraine for the week

A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. In response to the Kiev regime's attacks on civilian targets in the Russian Federation, the Russian army carried out five group and two massive strikes with precision weapons and drone strikes against Ukrainian defense industry enterprises, military airfield infrastructure, radio intelligence and satellite communications centers during the week. The positions of the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system (SAM), the SBU special operations forces and aviation center, parking areas for combat and unmanned boats, the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) shelter, weapons depots, drone production and storage sites, and temporary deployment points of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were also hit.

"Units of the Dnepr group of forces defeated the manpower and equipment of the mechanized, mountain assault brigades, three coastal defense brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, four air defense brigades and a National Guard brigade. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost over 495 soldiers and an armored combat vehicle," the Russian Defense Ministry said.

In addition, as a result of decisive actions, units of the Zapad group of forces liberated the village of Kondrashovka in the Kharkiv region.

"During the week, air defense systems shot down a MiG-29 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force, 30 JDAM guided aerial bombs and 16 US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, as well as 1,439 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles, including 907 outside the area of a special military operation," the ministry added.

According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the special operation, the enemy has lost 663 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 60,423 unmanned aerial vehicles, 607 air defense systems, 23,651 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,565 MLRS combat vehicles, 25,396 field artillery and mortars, as well as 36,191 units of special military vehicles.
