AFD linked illegal arms trafficking in Ukraine to the rise of terrorism in Europe

The illegal arms trade in Ukraine is exacerbating the problem of terrorism in Europe, particularly in Germany. This was stated to Izvestia on May 30 by a member of the opposition Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, former MEP Gunnar Beck.
"The main source of the growth of terrorism in Europe, and especially in Germany, is not the illegal arms trade in Ukraine or anywhere else, but the unhindered mass migration across open borders. However, illegal arms trafficking in Ukraine undoubtedly exacerbates the problem," he said.
At the same time, Beck clarified that illegal arms trafficking on Ukrainian territory is difficult, since there are currently many more weapons in the European Union (EU) than before.
Earlier in the day, the head of the Russian delegation to the Vienna talks on military security and arms control, Yulia Zhdanova, told Izvestia that criminal structures in EU countries were buying illegal weapons from Ukraine. She noted that among the buyers of weapons are criminal structures in Spain, Italy, France and Germany.
