The magnetic storm on May 29-30 was the longest in a year.

The last recorded magnetic storm was the longest in a year. This was announced on May 30 by the Laboratory of Solar X-ray Astronomy of the Institute of Space Research (IKI) and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).
"The magnetic storm, which was observed from 03:00 Moscow time on May 29 to 06:00 on May 30, lasted 27 hours and became the longest since the record events of May 2024," says a publication on the laboratory's website.
It is specified that in May of last year, the storm lasted 39 hours and reached the highest score of G5. According to the statement, this figure is the largest in 20 years.
It is noted that at the moment the magnetic field is at the "yellow" level, which characterizes its state as excited. According to scientists, the storms will resume in the coming hours, as mathematical models insist on this.
In an interview with Izvestia on May 29, Rustem Gayfutdinov, a neurologist and associate professor of the Department of Neurology at Kazan State Medical University, said that during magnetic storms one should not strain oneself and increase physical, mental and mental activity. According to him, during the disturbance of the Earth's magnetic field, you should get enough sleep, engage in moderate physical activity, eat a balanced diet, and avoid stress.
