Murashko announced plans of the Ministry of Health to expand the vaccination calendar with new vaccines

The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation plans to expand the national vaccination calendar to protect children's health and include new Russian vaccines against infectious diseases. This was announced on May 30 by the head of the department Mikhail Murashko.

"We are planning to expand the national vaccination calendar today, and these vaccines are already being developed and tested, and when they are completed, it will be domestic ones, because we must clearly understand safety," he said during a meeting with students of the Pediatric Faculty of the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

The Minister also called the immunoprophylaxis of infectious diseases a key component to avoid their outbreaks and preserve children's health. According to him, it is necessary to explain to mothers that vaccination protects the child, saves lives, and also prevents disabling conditions.

On May 21, Murashko announced that Russian scientists were conducting clinical and preclinical studies of new therapeutic vaccines. According to him, they can be used before the end of 2025.
