Gosuslugi will be able to confirm the password change by a trusted person.
Users of the Gosuslugi portal will have the opportunity to appoint a trusted person to confirm the password change and protect their account from fraudsters. This was announced on May 30 by the head of the Ministry of Finance Maksut Shadaev.
He noted that the new feature will be available in the third quarter and will be voluntary.
"If desired, any user of the portal will be able to authorize a trusted person to additionally confirm the password change. The second person must also have an account on Gosuslugi," Shadaev told TASS.
The minister added that the user will be able to choose a relative as their trusted representative, who will then receive notifications about password changes on the portal.
Earlier, on May 26, Shadaev supported the initiative to abandon the SMS code as a password recovery tool for "Public Services". According to him, it makes no sense to send a person to the MFC every time he forgot his password. Therefore, four options are offered: MFC, biometrics, banking application and OTP application.
