Szijjarto accused the EU of working to prolong the conflict in Ukraine

The European Union (EU) is being hypocritical by working to prolong the conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on May 30 by Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto during the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Budapest.
He noted that at the moment the EU supports a cease-fire and peace talks.
"What hypocrisy! Especially considering that they have been working all this time to prolong the conflict," Szijjarto stressed, as quoted by Magyar Nemzet newspaper.
The minister also added that Hungary will without fail hold the EU leadership accountable for the "failed strategy" to which it has been pushing the European continent over the past three years.
Turkish political analyst Serhat Latifoglu said on May 27 that the European Union is exerting pressure on Kiev in order to disrupt a new round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine on the settlement of the conflict. At the same time, he pointed to disagreements within the EU itself.
