The case of the former TV presenter Kurbangaleeva was sent to court

A criminal case against former TV presenter Farida Kurbangaleeva (listed in the register of foreign agents of the Russian Federation, the list of extremists and terrorists), who is accused in absentia of justifying terrorism and spreading fakes about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, has been sent to court. This was reported on May 30 in the press service of the Moscow Prosecutor's office.
"The criminal case has been sent to the 2nd Western District Military Court for consideration on the merits," the Telegram channel says.
It was established that in May 2024, the ex-TV presenter and her accomplice published a video on the video hosting channel, which revealed signs of calls for terrorist activities and their justification. Also in January 2023, Kurbangaleeva posted a publication on a public channel containing false information about the Russian Armed Forces during a special operation.
She is charged under Part 2 of Article 205.2 ("Public justification and propaganda of terrorism committed using the Internet information and telecommunications network by a group of persons") and paragraph "d" of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public dissemination under the guise of reliable messages of deliberately false information containing data on the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in order to protect interests The Russian Federation and its citizens, maintaining international peace and security").
On June 26, Kurbangaleeva was arrested in absentia for two months. On July 30, the court rejected her appeal against her arrest in absentia. On October 9, the former TV presenter was put on the international wanted list for spreading fakes about the Russian Armed Forces.
The Ministry of Justice added the journalist to the list of foreign agents on June 28 for spreading false information about decisions taken by public authorities of the Russian Federation and their policies. On October 18, she appealed her status as a foreign agent in court.
