In the summer heat, it is best to park your car on smooth asphalt or a concrete slab. If you leave the car on grass, earth and loose soil, it can harm it, said Yulia Trushkova, Rolf's service director.

"In summer, the soil overheats, and then begins to evaporate moisture. This creates a "wet greenhouse" from below, which can accelerate the corrosion of the bottom and exhaust system, damage plastic dust covers and fasteners, and increase humidity in the cabin," Rossiyskaya Gazeta quoted Trushkova as saying on May 30.

The car expert advised not to leave cars under the trees. Otherwise, there is a risk that bird droppings will appear on the body (aggressive to varnish, leaves burns), resin (difficult to remove, eats into the paint), as well as leaves and dust (clog drains, recesses, windscreen wipers).

Earlier, on May 21, car expert Yulia Trushkova said that it should take no more than a minute to warm up the engine in the warmer months. The engine and the lubrication system reach operating mode much faster than in winter, and driving under light load is much more useful for the engine than standing still, she noted.

On May 14, auto expert Alexander Smith said that improper engine washing could lead to serious engine problems, including major repairs. Washing a hot engine is one of the most common mistakes when cleaning the engine compartment, he noted.
