An explosion has occurred at a firecracker factory in India, killing at least five people and injuring 34 others. This was reported by The Indian Express newspaper on May 30.
"The factory in Singhwala village in Lambi District, owned by Tarsem Singh, was reduced to rubble due to the intensity of the explosion," the material says.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Lambi Jaspal Singh, the explosion occurred between 12:00 and 01:00 local time (21:00 and 23:00 GMT). It is specified that a strong blast wave destroyed all two-storey buildings.
The identities of the victims have not yet been established. According to the publication, most of the employees were migrants from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
"Our teams arrived at the site without delay. At the moment, we have recovered five bodies from the wreckage, and rescue operations are still ongoing to make sure that no one else is trapped," Singha added.
Another explosion at a firecracker factory in India occurred on April 1. It was clarified that at least 13 people died as a result of the incident. According to the Hindustan Times newspaper, four people were also injured in the explosion.
