Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a visit to Moscow by the widow of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe Akie, provided her with his Aurus car to travel around the center of the capital. This was announced on May 30 by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian leader.

Thus, Akie Abe used the offered executive car to get to the premiere of the ballet "The Hunchback Horse" at the Bolshoi Theater after meeting with the Russian leader in the Kremlin.

"In order for Ms. Abe to make it to the performance, Putin provided her with a presidential limousine, which took her to the Bolshoi Theater in time," a Kremlin spokesman told reporters.

Earlier in the day, Secretary General of the Japanese Cabinet of Ministers Yoshimasa Hayashi said that representatives of the Japanese government had not spoken with Abe Akie about her trip to Russia and would not comment on the meeting of Shinzo Abe's widow with the Russian leader. According to the Kyodo news agency, the meeting between the Russian President and Akie Abe may serve as a signal of improving relations between the two countries.

Putin met with Akie Abe on May 29 in the Kremlin. During the official event, the Russian leader recalled the desire of her husband, Shinzo Abe, to restore relations between Russia and Japan. According to him, the former prime minister continued the tradition of his family, as his father, who was the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, adhered to the same position.
