The magnetic storm that began on May 29 continues without interruption. This was announced on May 30 in the press service of the Laboratory of X-ray Astronomy of the Sun of the Institute of Space Research and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).

"Despite the fact that there were several decreases in activity during the day and despite the associated expectations of global stabilization of the situation, in fact, the magnetic storm that began today at 03:00 Moscow time has never been interrupted and has been ongoing for more than 17 hours," the statement said. publications on the website.

According to the report, the situation is under pressure from both the high speed of the solar wind and the "northern" orientation of the interplanetary magnetic field. According to the Russian Academy of Sciences, it is sharply negative for the geomagnetic forecast. It is noted that so far it is not possible to see downward trends in both factors.

At the same time, the institute stressed that the storm indicators are kept near the average level, and there was no repetition of morning peaks close to G3 during the day.
