Employees of the Russian Embassy in Sweden are subjected to psychological pressure, and there is also a tense situation around the diplomatic mission due to frequent attacks on the embassy building. The Russian Ambassador to Stockholm Sergey Belyaev told about it on May 30.

"The situation around the Russian diplomatic mission in Stockholm is difficult. They are openly trying to exert psychological pressure on us. The embassy has repeatedly been the target of drone attacks that have damaged its property," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Belyaev noted that the last such incident occurred on May 25, but the Swedish police did not take care to find the intruders. In addition, with the permission of local law enforcement officers, anti-Russian protests are regularly organized near the embassy.

"But those who expect to intimidate us are mistaken. The embassy staff, both diplomats and technical staff, are well aware of: we serve Russia. That says it all," the ambassador stressed.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zakharova told Izvestia on May 25 that Sweden would receive a protest note from the Russian Federation after dumping a container of paint using a drone at the Russian embassy. She stressed that Stockholm needs to clearly fulfill its obligations under the Vienna Convention. On the same day, the Russian embassy said that, having flown over the territory of the diplomatic mission, a drone dropped a container of paint on the site in front of the main entrance.
