Tankers showed footage of the destruction of the underground command post of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the LPR

Crews of T-72B3M tanks of the 20th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Zapad group of forces destroyed an underground command post, as well as camouflaged strongholds and manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Lugansk People's Republic (LNR). This was announced on May 30 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The published footage shows the arrival of combat vehicles at closed firing positions and the subsequent firing of 125-millimeter high-explosive shells.

"The shooting correction and hit control were performed by the operators of the UAV calculations (unmanned aerial vehicles. — Ed.) of the tank regiment, which made it possible to work quickly on targets with the lowest consumption of ammunition," the ministry stressed.

After the firing was completed, the crews changed positions to avoid counter-battery fire or kamikaze drones. To counter such threats from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the tanks were equipped with electronic warfare (EW) systems and reinforced dynamic armor.

"Thanks to the courageous actions of the tankers, the units are advancing meter by meter every day, which makes it possible to clear and occupy the strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Tankers carry out combat work around the clock. The priority objectives are fortifications and enemy military equipment, including foreign—made ones," the Defense Ministry concluded.
