In Primorye, five former police officers will stand trial for bribes


The Primorsky Krai Prosecutor's Office has approved an indictment in a criminal case of accepting bribes against five former inspectors of the traffic police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Vladivostok. This was announced on March 30 by the press service of the department for the region in the Telegram channel.
"In the period from January 2021 to October 2023, traffic police inspectors from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Vladivostok, together with employees of organizations involved in the evacuation of vehicles, ensured that cars parked in violation of traffic regulations were placed in pre—determined specialized parking lots, for which they systematically received bribes," the department said.
An indictment has also been approved against seven local residents who also participated in illegal activities.. The total amount of bribes received amounted to more than 700 thousand rubles.
As part of the interim measures in the case, the property of the defendants was seized in the amount of more than 7 million rubles.
Depending on the role and degree of participation of each, they are charged with crimes, including those provided for in paragraph "b" of Part 4 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code ("Bribery of an official through an intermediary, committed on a large scale") and paragraphs "a, b" of Part 3 of Article 291.1 of the Criminal Code ("Mediation of bribery, that is, the direct transfer of a bribe on behalf of the payer and other assistance to the payer and the payee in the implementation of the agreement between them on receiving and giving a bribe, by a group of persons by prior agreement, on a large scale," the prosecutor's office said.
The criminal case will be sent to the Frunzensky District Court of Vladivostok after the delivery of copies of the indictment.
It is clarified that the illegal actions were suppressed by the efforts of the personnel of the Department of internal Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Primorsky Territory.
On May 27, a former policeman was detained in Krasnoyarsk for bribing 400 thousand rubles. The man is accused of committing a crime under paragraph "b" of Part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe in the form of money on a large scale by an official").
Earlier, on May 20, the detained mayor of Novocherkassk, Yuri Lysenko, was charged with bribery. Criminal cases have been initiated against the official under Articles 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe") and Article 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Mediation in bribery"). The total value of the property and the services provided to Lysenko is more than 8 million rubles.
