On the Mikhail Bulgakov motor ship, passengers were diagnosed with an acute intestinal infection, norovirus, and more than 100 people have sought medical help since May 19. This was announced by Rospotrebnadzor on Thursday, May 29.

"An epidemiological investigation was immediately launched, and the etiological agent of the disease, norovirus, was detected in the Rospotrebnadzor laboratory on the first day," the supervisory authority said in a statement.

All the cases have been isolated, and there are no severe cases of the infectious disease.

Rospotrebnadzor noted that during the inspections, non-compliance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements was recorded. Some employees do not have personal medical records, and during the examination, asymptomatic carriers of norovirus were found among the crew members working with food products.

Earlier that day, the Mikhail Bulgakov motor ship docked at the Severny Rechny Railway Station in Moscow. The vacationers who came on deck said they were satisfied with the cruise.

On May 28, it was reported that the passengers of the ship felt unwell on board. On the same day, Yaroslav Marchenko, Deputy commercial Director of the Moscow Shipping Company, told Izvestia that it was caused by a rotavirus infection. Mosturflot clarified that it was found in 14 people.
