In western Iran, two people were killed in a shooting in Hamadan province.


In the city of Tuyserkan in western Iran, a man opened fire on passersby, killing two people and injuring seven others. This was reported by Iran International TV channel on Thursday, May 29.
According to the prosecutor's office, the 33-year-old local resident suffered from a mental disorder and used a military weapon, shooting from the roof of his house.
The police wounded him during his arrest, after which he was arrested and taken to the hospital. The police said that the detainee had been using "psychoactive drugs" before the incident.
The governor of Tuyserkan, Majid Shamai, said that one person died on the spot, the second died in hospital. Three more people are now in critical condition.
Earlier, on May 27, it was reported that as a result of a mass shooting in Philadelphia in the United States, two people were killed and at least eight were injured. Two of the victims are minors.
