Junior Sergeant Maltsev set up a repeater under fire from the Ukrainian Armed Forces

Junior Sergeant Daniil Maltsev was assigned the task of restoring communications between units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation when a repeater was damaged as a result of enemy shelling. The Russian Defense Ministry on Friday, May 30, told about the exploits of Russian servicemen in the area of the special military operation (SVO).

Maltsev took a new repeater with him and moved to a place convenient for installing equipment — on the roof of one of the houses. Meanwhile, the shelling from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) continued, the junior sergeant had to hide from the attacks of FPV drones. As a result, Maltsev successfully reached the selected point and installed a new repeater, after which he set it up, restoring uninterrupted communication as soon as possible.

The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the courage and professionalism of Guard Lieutenant Alexei Golikov, who led the reconnaissance group and carried out the task of clearing the roadway for the passage of Russian units.

On the way, Golikov discovered a camouflaged anti-personnel mine of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a large radius of destruction. Immediately ordering the group to retreat, the guard lieutenant personally engaged in mine clearance. He carefully removed his disguise first, then removed the fuse. After that, Golikov moved the mine to a safe place and gave the order to continue the task.

During the group's work at this site, more than 150 explosive objects and unexploded ordnance were neutralized in an area of about 1 hectare. Godikov personally cleared six antipersonnel mines, eight improvised explosive devices, and 15 mines of various calibers.

Earlier, on May 29, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Private Alfir Musin was serving at an air surveillance post when he noticed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) approaching the Russian stronghold. He immediately contacted the command, warning about the appearance of a kamikaze drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and then opened fire on the target.
