Actor and People's Artist of Karelia Alexander Lisitsyn has died.


People's Artist of Karelia Alexander Lisitsyn died after a long illness. This was announced on May 29 by the press service of the Karelian Drama Theater "Creative Workshop" on the VKontakte social network.
"It is with deep regret that we inform you that today, after a long illness, a great actor of the Russian theater school, our dear colleague and comrade, People's Artist of Karelia Alexander Nikolaevich Lisitsyn, passed away," the publication says.
It is reported that the actor was an old—timerthe theater troupe and belonged to the founding masters of the Creative Workshop.
In 1981, he graduated from the acting department of the Higher Theater College. Boris Shchukin, who has been involved in the team's robot since 1986, which later formed the Creative Workshop.
The date and place of farewell to the artist will be announced later.
Over the years of his life, Lisitsyn played more than 40 roles. He may be known to the audience for his roles as Dr. Chebutykin from Chekhov's "Three Sisters", Colonel Fetisov from the play "Colonel Bird" based on the play by Boychev, Muromov from "Guilty without Guilt" by Ostrovsky, the general from Kuprin's "Garnet Bracelet" and many other characters.
