- Measures to support the participants of the SVO and their families were discussed at a meeting of the State Council Commission

The participants of the second meeting of the relevant commission of the State Council discussed legislative initiatives to support veterans, issues of rehabilitation, medical and psychological assistance, adaptation of housing for veterans with disabilities, generalization of the best regional and industry practices with a view to their development and unification.
"After the victory, almost all of our fighters will return home and receive veteran status. Therefore, the commission's task today is to proactively identify the full range of unresolved problems, analyze them and propose solutions to the Presidium of the State Council," said Igor Babushkin, Governor of the Astrakhan Region and Chairman of the Commission.
According to him, the basic standard of social support measures will help in solving many pressing issues. He also noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly said that social guarantees for all participants in their military operations should be the same, since they are all equal, regardless of who fought and defended the Fatherland in what status.
The Chairman of the commission thanked all its members, as well as Assistant to the President, Secretary of the State Council Alexei Dyumin for their assistance and personal immersion in the areas of the commission's work. He also said that for effective work, three working groups have been formed in its composition, the participants of which have already held the first consultations and presented a number of developments.
According to Babushkin, one of the most pressing issues for the commission is related to improving social protection measures. First of all, this is the adaptation of housing for veterans with disabilities.
"I would like to draw the special attention of the authorities responsible for this task. I think this is one of the most important issues, so I propose to prioritize this problem and find a solution," he said.
One of the questions at the meeting was devoted to the organization of sanatorium-resort treatment for members of the SVO who were discharged from military service in rehabilitation centers of the Social Fund of Russia. For example, Astrakhan Tinaki is actively working in this field. The feedback from veterans was positive, but despite this, the rehabilitation area should be developed and new treatment methods should be introduced.
The proposals developed by the commission will be submitted to the Presidium of the State Council in the future. They will also be the basis of the report to the President of the Russian Federation for making the necessary decisions.
On March 27, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin named taking care of the participants of the CBO as one of the government's priorities.
