Kazakhstan is counting on a strategic partnership with Russia, namely the Caspian pipeline for the supply of oil. This was announced on May 29 by the President of the Republic Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

"We must remember that Russia is a strategic partner of Kazakhstan, our immediate neighbor and ally. We have the longest border with Russia in the world. In addition, we are counting on Russia as our strategic partner, and in particular we are counting on the CPC (Caspian Pipeline Consortium. — Ed.)," the President of the Republic said in an interview published on the AI Jazeera YouTube channel.

In addition, the leader of Kazakhstan stressed that in a recent telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, issues related to the Caspian pipeline were discussed. In his opinion, CPC will become a "good tool" for transporting oil through Russia to European countries.

Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Tokayev on May 28. The heads of state discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and energy spheres. It was clarified that the heads of state agreed to continue bilateral contacts at various levels.
